Luvuyolwethu Home-based Care for HIV and TB Project, Nyanga, Cape Town

After attending the CLA leadership course, Selina Poswayo, coordinator of the Luvuyolwethu Home-based Care for HIV and TB Project in Nyanga, drew up a project proposal.

Her proposed project received R12,000 as start-up funding to implement the food distribution project.

In 2005 the project distributed food parcels to an average of twenty-three people per month.  Today the figure stands at fifty-two.

The neediest people are identified as those who are sleeping with empty stomachs.

The project continues to apply for further support in order to sustain it and as a result a partnership with Woolworths is maintained.
